ACMV Synonyms: cassava latent virus, cassava mosaic virus

Causes a severe mosaic disease of cassava (Manihot esculenta, Euphorbiaceae; Storey & Nichols, 1938; Bock & Woods, 1983). There is a 60-80% decrease in tuber yield of plants of susceptible varieties when infected cuttings are used for propagation (Bock, 1983). In many parts of Africa, the incidence of infection in cassava crops exceeds 80%, and the virus is of great economic importance.
