Family: Tymoviridae
Genus: Tymovirus
Acronym: APLV
APLV Synonyms: eggplant mosaic virus, tomato white necrosis virus, Abelia latent virus, Andean potato latent virus.
Andean potato latent virus is a strain of eggplant mosaic virus, serologically distinct from the type strain. It infects wild relatives of the potato in South America. APLV causes mild symptoms, or no symptoms, in its natural hosts. However, it can be of concern when these plants are used in a potato breeding program.
