BBSV - Beet black scorch virus

BBSV Synonyms:

BBSV has been an issue on sugar beets in China since the late 1980s.  In 2005 this was detected in Colorado from a sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) production field. This was the first known detection outside of China.

The virus normally causes black scorching the leaves of sugar beet plants that are infected with the virus. Yields can be impacted dramatically by BBSV infection.
